The Team
Trustees
Diane Maciver – Chair
Diane started cycling in 2015, and became seriously involved, including volunteering in cycling to help cope with a bereavement. She is now active in a number of cycling initiatives as well as keeping Get on a Bike moving forward and helping everyone improve their health and wellness.
Elizabeth Duncan – Secretary
Elizabeth cycled as a child but stopped during her teenage years; the bike would occasionally come out but not consistently or seriously. It wasn’t until 2021 that she really got the bug, loving to explore the Moray countryside with no real destination in mind. Getting out in the bike was the answer to most of life’s dilemmas, and she wishes to help everyone discover this for themselves.
Sheila Scott – Treasurer
Sheila has been cycling for 26 years, and loves helping others discover the joy a bike brings. She believes miles are her mindfulness and meditation and help bring calm to the world.
Fee Howie – Safeguarding, Technical Support
Fee started cycling six years ago to improve her fitness before starting a gruelling bowel cancer journey – definitely helping her response and her recovery. She now cycles for the fun and the freedom and she is passionate and supportive to those new to cycling.
Susan Leonard – Strategy and Projects
Susan took up cycling as a mode of transport after being diagnosed with epilepsy as a young adult. She now loves exploring Moray on 2 wheels, especially when lots of chat and a cake are involved! She especially enjoys encouraging and supporting people who want to feel healthier, to give cycling a go.
Ride Leaders
Lorna Breetzke
Lorna began cycling in 2017 after overcoming her own addiction – and she’s never looked back. Now a competitive cyclist, she knows the life-changing benefits of the bike and loves helping others experience them too.
Stu Dick
Stuart is a passionate Scottish cyclist and community advocate who shares his love of cycling, adventure and connection through creative storytelling. From epic endurance rides to local coffee stops he inspires others to explore, ride and celebrate the joy of life on two wheels.
Russell Findlay
Russ started cycling in 1978 and, as a teacher, helped children with cycling, and young people with cycling and learning. This is another step for him in helping others.
Mark Houliston
Mark is an enthusiastic cyclist and looks forward to sharing time with you on a bike so that we can all learn more about ourselves and this great part of the country we live in.
Pat Leonard
Pat grew up watching Irish cyclists winning the Tour De France. He played rugby for fun when he was younger and started back cycling in his 40s. He thinks Moray has the best tracks and roads to explore.
Derek McLennan
Derek’s love of cycling was ignited on a Med cruise after joining in cycling tours and he started cycling with a group of friends once a week. It wasn’t long before he joined other local cycling groups as his love of cycling grew. Derek really enjoys encouraging others to “Get On A Bike”.
Katherine Stewart
Katherine began her cycling journey when in 2018 she swapped her car for a bicycle commute across Glasgow, and she caught the urban cycling bug. These days she still uses a bike to get from A to B, and has enjoyed sharing the joy of two wheels with Get On A Bike participants.
Mechanic
Phil has been cycling regularly since he was a teenager and loves anything involving cycling. He also loves to tinker with bikes, having built his own bikes along with regularly servicing them. He keeps the Get On A Bike fleet running so you can all get out in the fresh air, and enjoy the health benefits that it offers.
